3126-3456) Ronald McDonald Frame-Tray MAGIC PUZZLE

Very colorful 11 1/2"x14 1/2" puzzle from 1984.

The front side shows Ronald McDonald, on stage, holding a top hat in his left hand - while his right hand is reaching inside for the rabbit.

Unknown to Ronald, the rabbit has hand sawed his way through the bottom, of the hat, and is escaping.

All this, while the audience looks on.

The backside, of the Frame-Tray, shows Ronald McDonald standing in his classic pose.

There's a rabbit next to Ronald's left foot -and- a top hat above his right hand, with a bird inside, wings stretched out, as if flying and escaping with the hat.

This backside is not a puzzle, only the front side.

Stated for ages 3 to 7, but I'm sure your children will have fun with this, too!!

Some light chipping around the edges and one small stain near the top of the backside.

Please refer to photos, below, for overall condition. - $20.00

3131-1303) A HAUNTING WE WILL GO Movie - Lobby Card from Mexico.

For those of you collecting material from this 1942 Laurel and Hardy movie, you know how HARD American movie memorabilia pieces are to come by. Well, what's offered here is even harder - it's the Lobby Card from the Mexican Release.

Larger in size than our American Lobby Cards, this piece measures approx. 12 1/2"x 16 1/2". There are a few pin holes (which are to be expected), but I would say the Lobby Card still grades EXCELLENT in condition, if not Near Mint.

Great color, drawings, etc. around most of the card, but what makes this card so desirable is the photo of Laurel and Hardy, Sheila Ryan and DANTE the Magician.

This has been Professionally double Matted and Framed. The frame is Great Looking Black Wood. And, what’s interesting about the frame is the fact: the outside and inside edges of the wood have been amazingly shaved to have the same appearance as the angle/cuts of the mattes themselves - complimenting one other. Overall measurement approx. 18”x24”.

Wouldn’t this SCARCE Lobby Card look nice hanging on your wall?!! - $250.00

3081-8977) Full Sheet of ROBERT HOUDIN 1971 French Stamps

Portraits of Famous Frenchmen Issue.

50 stamps come to a sheet of stamps.

This colorful Stamp was issued to commemorate the life of one of a few of France’s distinguished historical figures.

The color shadings of the stamp are subtle but visually stunning. Houdin is pictured on the stamp with an object symbolizing his life’s work.

The stamp has vivid, fresh colors, superb centering and perfect, never hinged gum.

The stamp sheet measure approx. 11"x11 1/4".

The overall measurement of the stamp sheet, with matt board, is approx. 12"x15".

As can be seen in the photo, below, there is a separation in the perforation (about 4") from the edge to about half way through the second stamp, at the middle of the sheet.

Same from the other side, except this is only 2 1/2" and runs from the edge of the sheet, to about 3/4 of the first stamp.

3065-4458) MANDRAKE THE MAGICIAN Magic Kit

Box is marked: "King Features Syndicate 1949". Although the instructions are dated 1953.

According to the instructions, it looks virtually complete. Although, in checking the instructions with the magic kit's contents, I don't see #10 "Button Release", #17 Horse Shoe Puzzle, #18 Spider Web Puzzle, #19 Dog and Collar Trick, #21 Shell and Ball Trick (I see the shell cup, but not the ball).

This may be due to the instructions having other magic tricks which can be performed, which don't involve the magic effects in the kit.

And, I don't know where all these 'maybe' missing effects would fit in the box.

Most all effects are labeled,  where they belong in the box and I don't see any additional labeling.

My thought is there were several different Mandrake The Magician Magic Kits and not all had the exact same magic effects.

In the photo below, you'll see three color trays - two blue and one red. There are actually two of each. When I took the photo,  I didn't notice the extra red tray, as the two were stuck together. This 2nd red tray would fill the area under the 2nd blue tray.

Box measures approx. 10 1/2"x 15". Has a little surface and edge wear. The top hinge fold is intact.

All in all, a great piece of magic's history from back in the 1940s/1950s. - $75.00

3066-1352) MANDRAKE THE MAGICIAN ORIGINAL RADIO BROADCASTs RECORD LP ALBUM

Produced by George Garabedian and released by Mark 56 Records of Anaheim, California back in the 1970s.

The record contains the First Two "Mandrake The Magician" Original radio broadcasts.

There are a few minor scratches. There's nothing on the surfaces of the LPs below, just a bad reflection.

Sit back, relax and listen to: Mandrake The Magician. - $25.00

3067-8663) LAS VEGAS CASINO DECKs OF CARDs FROM THE 1970s

Blue and red back decks for each casino.

The Stardust casino is no longer in Las Vegas, just another which has been taken down and I 'think' a new/larger casino being built at this time.

Great memento's from an era of 30+ years ago. - Stardust deck @ $25.00 - Sahara deck @ $15.00

Since the LP is still sealed and unopened, in its cello wrap, I'm going to assume it's in Mint Condition. - $35.00

I was contacted by a person who'd looked at my WebSite and wanted to purchase certain photos from the Gerald Kosky ScrapBook I've been offering.

Written on MAHATMA Magazine Stationery, dated October 11, 1902 - now 107+ Years Old!!

While I have had my share of Mahatma magazines to offer, I'VE NEVER had a handwritten letter, by one of the original editors on Mahatma Stationery.

Mr. Fritz Has Written:

H. Schullerman

Dear Sir

Can supply you with 50
back issues of Mahatma at 10cents each.

Why not run over to see
me. Will be at home all day
Sunday, also in the evening.

My home is but two doors
from Howard Ave (805 Halsey St.)

Your very sincerely
T. Francis Fritz

Stationery shows the Mahatma magazine mast
-and-
red seal for the Society Of American Magicians, New York.

A unique piece of magic history, indeed!!

Letter is a fixed on what appears to have been the back cover of something.

Perhaps a Mahatma binder, which I know exist, but NEVER seen.

Goodness, goodness, goodness - 50 back issues, from the editor, in 1902.

Wonder how many Volume 1, #1 issues he still had to offer at 10cents each?!!

And, for those of you who didn't already know, T.(Theodore) Francis Fritz is the real name of Frank Ducrot (known as 'Duke' to his friends). He bought the Martinka magic shop in 1921 from Houdini, and later sold it to Al Flosso. - $250.00

2947-3275) HOUDINI, A CIRCUS OPERA Original MINT Condition Poster

For you Houdini and Magic Poster Collector's, I am offering a VERY SCARCE item. This Poster is from Amsterdam.

In 1977 "HOUDINI, A Circus Opera" debuted in Amsterdam, Holland. It also had performances in Aspen, Colorado(1979) - then again back in Amsterdam (1981). Jerold Norman played HOUDINI for all the productions. Howard Peters played the Escapologist for the 1977 production, then Mark Mazzarella played the Escapologist for the 1979 and 1981 productions.

The Striking image of Houdini, used for the Poster, came from an Original Painting by the Set Director, Floris Guntenaar.

The original painting measured a Massive 8'x13' (that's feet, not inches) and valued at over $12,000.

2898-4195) THE 37cent HOUDINI STAMP From 2002.

20 stamps come to a sheet.

The Houdini stamp sheet  was first issued at the 2002 Society of American of Magicians convention in New York on July 3rd.

The Houdini stamp was officially dedicated’ at the convention, with Houdini’s niece Marie Blood in attendance. David Copperfield was there, too.

If you didn't pick up a sheet of these Wonderful Houdini stamps, 7 years ago, here's your chance. - $12.50

The portrait on the Harry Houdini stamp, which depicts a confident, self-assured man at the height of his career, was taken from a 1911 lithographed poster in the collection of Gary H. Mandelblatt. Designed by Richard Sheaff of Scottsdale, Arizona. The stamp contains a hidden image which, when viewed through the official U.S. Postal Service Stamp Decoder, appears to wrap Houdini in chains.

2908-7899) THE FINAL HOUDINI SEANCE LP

Recorded on October 31, 1936 (10 years after Houdini's death) and narrated by George L. Boston. Featuring the voices of Mrs. Harry Houdini and Dr. Edward Saint.

A George Garabedia Production. Produced in 1975 by Mark56 Records of Anaheim, California.

Great shot on Cover of Houdini's head 'ghostly' superimposed over a graveyard site.

This world wide final Houdini Séance took place on Halloween night, on the roof of the Knickerbocker Hotel in Hollywood, California.

This was to be the greatest attempt to pierce the unknown, and form a spirit contact that was ever conceived by mortal man. It was on this night that Mrs. Harry Houdini made the supreme effort to reach her beloved husband, Houdini.

Over 300 invited guest formed the outer circle, while 13 scientists, occulogists, newspapermen, magicians, spiritual leaders and other friends of Houdini, joined Mrs. Houdini in the inner circle.

As Dr. Saint said during the séance: "This is a Houdini night, with the spotlight of the public on Houdini; with the whole world paused to see or hear Houdini step on this side of the curtain."

Before Houdini died, he arranged a definite test of spiritualism. He devised a ten-word code which he planned to use to communicate with his wife, if possible, within ten years after his death. October 31, 1936 was the final test, the final séance.

Included with this record is a 3page print out (from a 1955 magic magazine) with all the words to this Final Séance.

Whether your belief is in spiritualism or not, you will agree that this on-the-scene recording, and the mystery which surrounds the séance will leave a doubt in your mind whether the great Houdini returned.

Since this LP is still sealed/unopened - I can only assume it's still in MINT Condition!! - $50.00

2909-2563) HOUDINI 8x10 PHOTOs IN DESK FRAME

For the most part, the photo's below tell the whole story. This offering is for three different Houdini reproduction photographs.

First is a nice portrait photo of Houdini from the waist up, slight turned to his right, wearing a suit with bow tie. This is the same image Houdini used in the upper left corner of his stationery. As can be seen in the photo below, there's a great signature: Harry Houdini - Jan 31, 1914 going along the left side of the photo.

The second is Houdini's famous "Hollywood pose". Wonderful starring look by Houdini with his right hand covering part of the left side of his face. One of his most famous photo's.

The last photo shows Houdini in a three piece suit, hands in his pockets. Harry Handcuff Houdini written across the middle of the photo. Except Houdini has had some fun with his signing and only used two H's, instead of three. How clever!!

If these were a genuine photo's, they would cost you hundreds of dollars and the signed one, thousands. No one has to know it’s not real, unless you tell them....

Each comes in an ‘antique looking’ frame, would sit nicely on your desk. Plus, there's a tab on the back, should you wish to hang it on your wall. Overall size of the frame is 9 7/8"x11 3/4". Don’t want to spend hundreds? Then this is for you.... Just click on the 'thumbnail' photos for a better look.  - $25.00(each)

As the photo below shows, it’s a very colorful and Happy picture of a Circus Clown.

This stamp was issued 43 years ago to commemorate the American Circus and the Clown.

These are as new as the day they were issued.

Know someone who does Clown magic, etc. - well, here’s a great gift for them (or yourself). - $7.50

2927-9478) THE JUGGLER

Called "The Juggler, but in Old English, this means MAGICIAN.

This is an AUTHENTIC 126 Year Old photogravure published in 1883 by Gebbie & Co. It is printed on a heavy-weight paper and is blank on the reverse. The print is in very good condition with the image area crisp and clean. It is titled in the lower margin.

Image area 5"x10 3/8" - paper size: 10 1/8"x14 1/2". This has been professionally double matted, with a foam core back. All has been shrink wrapped. Overall measurement is: 14"x18". A standard size, just right for a ready made or custom frame.

A little history on this print:

'The actors, in the lively scene before us, various classes of society and types of mind are presented. The ladies in the foreground exhibit an amused surprise; the humbler woman beside them betrays a more serious wonderment, while the mother on her left appears to sympathize with the alarm of her children. The men in this group are disposed to be jocular over the performance. An old schoolmaster marches by with his scholars; he is absorbed in his book, possibly is seeking light upon the dark arts. Beyond him two philosophers are apparently speculating on the mysteries of mind and matter. Finally, while one of the jugglers amuses the crowd, the other does not forget to solicit their contributions; for even magicians, strange to say, cannot live without money.'

Imagine how nice this would look framed and hanging on your wall. - $125.00
